Grant Illingworth QC

Grant is a barrister-at-law based in Auckland, NZ. He is a litigation specialist, having conducted his own practice as an advocate since 1975.

His particular interests and expertise include the following aspects of the legal process:

  • Public law, including constitutional law, administrative law and judicial review
  • Commercial litigation, including contract disputes and negligence claims
  • The law relating to trusts and relationship property
  • Professional disciplinary proceedings
  • Arbitration and mediation

Henry Laubscher

South Africa:
Joined the Pretoria Bar in 1979 where he practised until 2003; took silk in 1992; member of the South African National Bar Examination Board; Chairperson of the Disciplinary Committee of the Pretoria Bar; and briefly held a position as an Acting Justice of the South African High Court in 2003 before emigrating to New Zealand at the end of that year.

New Zealand:
Senior Solicitor at MSD; Professional Standards Director of ADLS and thereafter of NZLS before commencing practice as a barrister sole at the beginning of 2010.

Chris Browne has practised in litigation for over 30 years, including periods in a small central city full-service firm, in a provincial Crown Solicitor’s office, as a Crown Counsel in the Crown Law Office in Wellington, as a litigation partner in a leading national law firm and more recently as a partner of the litigation boutique firm, Wilson Harle.

He has a broadly-based as a commercial litigation and public law practice and is listed as a leading New Zealand dispute resolution lawyer in both Legal 500 and Chambers Global and additionally as a leading public law practitioner in Chambers Asia-Pacific. He is a member of the National Standards Committee.
