Lawyer member

Membership with ADLS to become a Lawyer Member is available to lawyers who hold a current New Zealand practising certificate as a barrister or as a barrister and solicitor.

The 2017/18 membership term runs from 1 February 2017 - 31 January 2018. The membership fee for this term is $214 plus GST per lawyer member. Applications from eligible persons may be accepted at any time during the year and the membership fee will be calculated on a pro-rata basis for any part-year.

Note: All membership applications submitted to ADLS will require verification and may take time to finalise.

It is important to note that only Lawyer Members and Qualified Members are eligible to vote and be nominated for Council. Any person who was either an eligible Local Member or Regional Member of ADLS at the time of the recent Rule changes will automatically become a Lawyer Member for the purposes of the new Rules, and for the purpose of eligibility to nominate and stand for office.

Membership fees paid to ADLS are non-refundable if a member decides to terminate their membership part way through the membership period.
