Synopsis

Coming in to effect on 1 July 2016, the new residential land withholding tax will present a number challenges to property lawyers and conveyancers. This webinar, presented by a technical advisor from the IRD, a taxation expert and a senior property lawyer will provide timely guidance on the effect of the Act on property transactions and suggest practical solutions to common problems that may arise.

Keiran is a tax lawyer who has been involved with the development of the RLWT legislation along with other property-related tax policy matters while she is on secondment to the Policy and Strategy group. Previously, Keiran worked as a manager in the Public Rulings Unit in the Office of the Chief Tax Counsel, Inland Revenue where she managed a number of projects dealing with aspects of the tax property rules.

Joanna, Principal of Pidgeon Law, advises a vast range of clients, including property investors, developers, project managers, financiers, construction companies, landlords and tenants, real estate agencies and bodies corporate, on property and commercial law.
