Taking effect on 1 September, the Contract and Commercial Law Act 2017 (Act) repackages and updates 11 pieces of legislation, including the Contractual Remedies Act 1979, Illegal Contracts Act 1970 and Sale of Goods Act 1908.
Given the magnitude of the Act, timely guidance about its contents and effect will be useful for lawyers and their clients.
These materials will help you:
- Get to grips with the key changes made by the Contract and Commercial Law Act 2017 – and also ascertain which pieces of legislation have not been subsumed.
- Gain a deeper understanding of what lawyers and their clients will need to do, by 1 September, as a result of the Act – such as updating templates and contracts, and ensuring consistency and sense are achieved.
- Receive an update and refresher on how the Act relates to and will impact on contract drafting.
Junior to intermediate commercial lawyers and general practitioners who do some commercial work. More experienced practitioners may also wish to attend for an update and refresher.
