The Property Law Committee is comprised of practitioners who have extensive experience in property related matters. The Committee meets monthly and considers the following matters which are of a property law nature:
- Reports published by the Law Commission which propose law reform.
- Bills currently before Parliament and Select Committees.
- Preparing submissions to the Law Commission and/or Select Committees.
- Providing feedback input to the Property Law Section of the New Zealand Law Society.
- Receiving comments and suggestions from practitioners and where applicable acting on those matters.
- Liaising with banks and financial institutions to ensure that the interests of practitioners is properly represented and advanced.
- Preparing articles for publication in Law News on topical matters.
- Identifying topics of interest for CLE Seminars
The Committee welcomes feedback from practitioners which should be addressed to the Committee’s Secretary.
